Description
Join the City of Agoura Hills for an evening at the Griffith Observatory. Pacific Standard Universe is a 35-minute digital film which explores the ways people have represented the cosmos across time and cultures. The film explores how cosmological symbols from ancient times (the Aztec Calendar Stone or the Chumash pictographs in southern California) and the imagery produced by the observatories and aerospace industry of California have transformed our perception of the universe. Explore the rest of the Griffith Observatory before returning to the Recreation Center.
Pacific Standard Time Art is a collection of exhibitions that explore some of the most urgent problems of our time through past and present connections between art and science in a series of exhibitions, public programs, and other resources. These exhibitions will explore “topics like ancient cosmologies, Indigenous sci-fi, environmental justice, and artificial intelligence”
