Phineas Banning was known as "The Father of the Port of Los Angeles" and he played a key role in the development of the city itself. Banning built this residence himself from his own design. It was finished in 1864 and is considered the finest example of Greek Revival residential architecture in all of California. The Banning House has three stories and is topped with a cupola that was built with lumber from the Mendocino Coast. It has beautiful Belgian marble throughout and feature lovely leaded glass. If you enjoy beautiful old architecture, you won't want to miss this tour. After the tour we will be dining at Marie Callender. Lunch is not included in the price of trip. NOTE: MODERATE WALKING.
