Description: This three-session course will introduce attendees to the fascinating South Carolinians who advocated for women’s suffrage. Class presentations will cover South Carolina suffragists from the antebellum Grimke Sisters through the Rollins Sisters, Virginia Durant Young and many others to 1969 when the SC General Assembly finally ratified the Nineteenth Amendment.
