About this event
Instructor: Douglas Leader graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. He worked his entire career at what is now the Savannah River Site. Doug’s interest in Photography started when he was very young. For many years he had his own darkroom for developing and printing black and white photographs. He has been with the Center’s Tech Section for over 10 years and has coached and taught sessions in Picasa and Photoshop. Description: Picasa is a free program to be used for organizing and editing photos taken with a digital camera or an Android cell phone. It cannot be used on Apple computers or photos taken with Apple products. Google no longer provides support for this program; however, it is still in use by millions of enthusiasts to organize and edit their photos. Google support is not necessary. Students will be given a thumb drive with the program to be installed on their home computer. Once installed on your computer, it automatically finds all the photos on your computer and organizes them by date. You will learn a simple four-step process that allows you to quickly correct most of the common problems with most candid photos and you will be able to easily find photos taken even years ago.
