About this event
In this fun 3-day camp we'll teach kids bike control with smooth start and stops, riding with one hand to signal, riding a straight line and be able to look behind them in fun games and challenges. We'll introduce bike riding rights and laws and traffic awareness of where to look for car drivers and what to expect when drivers don't follow the laws. (ex. drivers rolling through stop signs when kids are walking or biking from the sidewalk). **Kids must be able to ride on two wheels and pedal the bike without assistance. Camps build on skills. Kids must be able to attend the first two days. They'll be treated to rides on beautiful paths along the boat marinas, slow streets, Jean Sweeney Park to Alameda Cross trail protected lanes and on Alameda Point. We meet at Bohol Circle Park on 5th Street in Alameda in the morning and pick up everyday is Jean Sweeney parking lot. Camper, Bike and Helmet need to be brought to Cycle City no later than Sunday 11/16 to be sized and safety checked and appointment made for bike maintenance if needed. KIDS WON'T BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE WITHOUT MECHANIC SIGN OFF FOR PROPERLY FITTING AND FUNCTIONING BIKES. Heavy rain, wind or unsafe air quality cancels with refund. Minimum 5 kids registered to run session.
