Bats are incredible, beautiful creatures that play an important role in our ecosystem. Adding a bat house to your backyard creates a welcome and safe resting place for bats. Your bat kit includes: - Fully-assembled wooden bat house - Install instructions - Additional information and resources about attracting bats to your yard, Georgia's bats, and more. The most ideal location for a bat house is: - on the side of a building or post (not a tree) - at least 10 feet off the ground - no vegetation underneath - 20-30 feet from the nearest trees However, if you do not have a spot that meets all of these specifications, that's okay! This is the most ideal placement, but bats can still inhabit your bat house without all of these. Pick up your Bat House Kit from the outdoor classroom at Old Rucker Farm any time between Friday, October 24th and Friday, October 31st.
