Kiln Firing 101

Ready to fire your work, but don't know how to load or start a kiln?

This crash course will take you through all the steps and firing procedures to fire the electric kilns at the Fairview Recreation Center. Working hands on with the instructor you will load a mock kiln together and learn how to do the following: reserve a kiln firing, how to stack kiln shelves, load ceramic pieces, set a firing program, cleaning and care for kiln shelves, and more.

Take your ceramic skills to the next level and build your confidence to fire your own kiln.

This is a great class for those new to firing kilns or those wanting a refresher.
