Adult. Discover the satisfaction that comes from shaping beautiful objects out if wood using just 3 versatile hand tools: the chisel, the plane, and saw. Learn the craft of woodworking and practice essential techniques that have been handed down through the centuries. The first half of class will cover the tools, techniques, and construction of dovetail joinery without the use of nails, glue, or screws. The second half will demonstrate the layout, cutting, and fitting of mortise and tenon joinery using the same tools throughout. Leave this class with a simple box and lid, along with a base knowledge and experience of two of the earliest forms of furniture making. No prior woodworking experience necessary.
