FUSED GLASS EXPERIMENTATION WITH DIFFERENT GLASS & TECHNIQUES/ Martha Downer
Wednesdays from 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
September 10th - November 12th*NO CLASS 10/229 weeks
Class Fee: $290

Students will develop basic techniques of glass fusing. Topics to be discussed and demonstrated will be: glass compatibility, glass cutting and utilization, designing on glass, preparing the kiln shelf using Papyros paper release, firing schedules, and glass project results. We will complete 3-4 projects using fused glass techniques. We will also make several small items, including jewelry and candleholders, perfect for gifts. This class doesn’t require previous experience. All abilities are welcome.

Most supplies are provided. Participants may provide their own glass, given that it is COE 90.

REFUND POLICY: To receive a refund, students must submit their request at least 1 week before the first class. No refunds or transfers are guaranteed after this time. To withdraw from a class, you are required to email ChastainArts@AtlantaGA.gov and include your name, the class name, and your reason for withdrawal. The option to accept an account credit for the class withdrawal is preferred. If a withdrawal/refund is requested after 1 week prior to or after the class has begun, a $30 administration fee will be deducted and only an account credit will be processed to be used for future class registrations, clay purchases, and future purchases in our gift shop & gallery. If a class has begun at minimum enrollment, we cannot process refunds or credits after the first class has already started. If you register for a class after the session has begun, only an account credit will be processed if a withdrawal is requested. Anyone registered for a figure class with a model will be required to pay the model fee on the first day of class with cash or check to the instructor. Even if you request a withdrawal after the first day of class, you will be required to pay the model fee calculated based on enrollment on the first-class meeting. The Chastain Arts Center is not responsible for classes missed due to student absences. Please discuss any unavoidable absences with your instructor.
