In this introductory 2-day workshop, students will take their story to the next level by discussing the development processes of publishing a picture book. From character ideas and design, discussing storytelling standards for picture books, thinking about the publishing process and how it works, and deciding your best publishing path. There will be basic drawing lessons, character and layout design discussions and examples, and a basic lesson on the various publishing avenues a 21st Century author/illustrator can pursue. Bring a sketchbook, a story idea (or one you're already working on), and a willingness to learn.
