Description
This 8-week course will introduce adults to the fundamentals of quilting and sewing by guiding them through the process of creating a quilted tote bag and coordinating accessories. The class is designed for beginners and will cover sewing techniques, fabric selection, quilting, and assembly of various projects. Participants will gain hands-on experience using a sewing machine while developing skills in textile craftsmanship.
Materials Needed:
- Cotton fabric: (1 yard for the tote exterior, 1 yard for the lining, ½ yard for accessories)
- Batting: Low-loft batting (1 yard)
- Thread: Coordinating all-purpose thread
- Notions: Sewing machine (provided or brought by participants Scissors, Seam ripper, Rotary cutter, Cutting mat, Quilting ruler, Pencil or fabric marking pen, Pins or clips
