This 8 week, highly interactive course will expand on concepts and vocabulary introduced in ASL 1. Topics will include a review of and expansion of ASL 1 vocabulary, new vocabulary of animals and “around the workplace”, an introduction to classifiers, use of space during storytelling, and visit with a Deaf community member. Come prepared to have fun learning a language! Prerequisite: ASL 1 or equivalent experience About the Instructor: SarahJoy Chaples is an MDI resident with over 10 years teaching classes and workshops to adults. She has a Masters in Human Development from UMaine and is fluent in American Sign Language. SarahJoy brings her 25+ years of experience in the Deaf Community to her classroom. She is passionate about helping her students achieve success in their efforts to learn ASL in fun and interactive ways.
