This 8 week, highly interactive course will introduce you to American Sign Language. You will learn vocabulary related to greetings, colors, family, ABC's, numbers and money, asking questions, things around the house, hobbies, and occupations. You will be introduced to Deaf culture and basic grammar. Come prepared to have fun learning a language! About the Instructor: SarahJoy Chaples is an MDI resident with over 10 years teaching classes and workshops to adults. She has a Masters in Human Development from UMaine and is fluent in American Sign Language. SarahJoy brings her 25+ years of experience in the Deaf Community to her classroom. She is passionate about helping her students achieve success in their efforts to learn ASL in fun and interactive ways.
