Description
Did you know that wooden spoons have been around since King Tut was alive? Wooden spoons have many meanings: love, prosperity and joy to name a few. Join us as we learn about the history of the wooden spoon, the different types of wood used in wood carving and the pros and cons of each. After that, we will sit by the fire, using hot coals to aid us in carving our spoons while we enjoy hot beverages. Activities will take place both indoors and outdoors. Plum Creek Nature Center is an accessible facility. We will be using pocketknives during this program.
Ages 10 and older. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
