Fiber / Textiles:Handweaving - All LevelsInstructor: Rachel Brunhild
Handweaving can produce a range of artistic pieces from scarves and towels to wall hangings, artifacts for the home, fabric for garments, or a study of a particular weave structure. Beginning students will start with the basics of how to prepare the warp and weft for their project guided by the instructor, and weave structures and materials will be suggested. Intermediate and advanced students can work on suggested projects or independent projects, supported by the instructor. Students in this class have to provide their own yarn, shuttles, and bobbins for their projects. Loom assignment will be based on project; however, beginners will start on the rigid heddle loom or 4-shaft loom.
There is an optional $30 fee for a standard first project for beginners (or anyone who wants to do the project) who doesn't want to bring their ownyarn that first week. This would include yarn for warp and weft, and instructions.
