SHERI LEE ROBINSONMATERIALS LISTAbstract Expressionist Collage
- 2-24”x18” Strathmore watercolor paper pads- Any art paper you may have at home to paint or draw on- this paper will be torn after being painted on to create various shapes for collage.- Any type of colored paper to paint and draw on. I like tan, black or gray paper for a more monochromatic composition.- Old drawings or paintings on paper or canvas, photos, memorabilia etc to rip and repurpose into collage. It’s time to breathe new life into them!- 1 - 32 oz jar of Mod Podge adhesive and several brushes and sponge brushes to use with it -these get pretty trashed so nothing fancy needed- Several art brushes of varying sizes for water based media- Large disposable palette pad or any palette of your choosing- Acrylic paints in a variety of colors of your choosing-can be a paint set or individual tubes- Your favorite drawing materials- this can be as simple as a pencil, a ball point pen, crayons or pastels of any kind. Bring what you have or go shopping for drawing materials that really excite you.- Black India ink-any size and a small brush, pen or point to draw with- Any other colors of ink that you may want to use- Disposable gloves - at least 3 pair per session- 2 plastic or metal palette knives- medium to large size preferred- large plastic table covering to protect your work table for each session. You may need a few of these- Apron/ Coveralls or work clothes that can get paint on them
I will bring in a selection of materials to each session for you to freely use and explore. The sky is the limit when it comes to what kinds of paint to use, but I prefer Blick acrylics for this process. They are economical and easy to use.
