Painting: Painting: Intro to Watercolor-Part 1

Watercolor is a beautiful media to study!
This introductory class is perfect for people who want to learn to paint with watercolor. If you have played with watercolor (or not) and want to learn more about it from a watercolor artist / instructor, this class is for you.Through exercises, projects and instructor demonstrations, students will learn about:
• Professional grade watercolor paint; properties, values, and color mixing.
• Professional grade watercolor paper; how to stretch the paper and how the stretched paper enhances a painting.
• The cycle of creating a watercolor painting from beginning to end.
Professional grade paint and paper, a travel pan set and student grade paper will be provided. There is a supply list for the rest of things needed for class. A class field trip may take place during the semester for one class meeting date.

Beginner Watercolor Intro Part 1

Please have the supplies below for the first day.
Brushes: Simply Simmons are a reasonable Watercolor Brush (they have a white handle.)
- 6 Round
- 10 Round
- ½ flat
- #2 Pencil
- Kneaded eraser
- Extra fine sharpie marker
- Ruler
- Container for painting water
- Table covering
- Small mixing palette Round - I can have some of these for you to buy. I get them in bulk.
Palette to put the tube paints you will be getting. This can wait until we are in class. I will have some for sale in class. You can see them and decide what you want to use.
