Ceramics: Advanced Mold-Making & Slip CastingInstructor: Tom Caycedo
In this course, students will delve deeper intothe realm of mold-making and casting. Thiscourse will serve as a deeper in-depth explorationon common methods and principles used tosuccessfully produce a plaster mold and castceramic multiples. Students will be encouraged todesign their projects, plan more complex / multiplepart molds, learn how to color slip, and customizeforms through surfacing, glazing, and attachingcomponents. Students will be casting, firing, andglazing their pieces to completion and will producesmall batches of cast works.This class will serve as supplemental explorationfor the incorporation of design principles and skillsfor a more intuitive and varied studio practice.

4 ct, 6" C-Clamps
3 ct - 3 gallon buckets
1 - Basic pottery tools including needle tool
1 - Disposable toothbrush
Dust mask or respirator
Apron (or wear something that can get dirty)
