Trip Description: This will be a joint program with our Avery chapter. This will limit the number of students that will be able to participate. We are planning on doing more climbing in the Spring so if you can't attend this one please look for more to come. Join us for a day of climbing at one of the many amazing climbing locations in NC. Learn how to belay, tie knots, receive climbing tips, and try out some climbs on real rock. We will be climbing at Rockyface near Taylorsville, NC which has a variety of climbing difficulties; this trip is open to beginners and experts, alike. Every skill level is welcome and encouraged to join. All activities will be "Challenge by Choice" which means that if at any point a student is uncomfortable with what an activity is asking them to do, they will have the option to opt out and participate in a different way. Climbing is a great way to spend time in the outdoors and to challenge yourself. Though climbing is an inherently risky activity, Mountain Alliance staff will take every step possible to ensure that risks are minimized and that students have an enjoyable outing.
