About this event
Advisor: Travis Sturm Email: travis.sturm@basisindependent.com The Science Studio offers activities that enrich students’ knowledge of science through creativity, art, and engineering. In this club, students engage in hands-on projects such as “fixing” a fairytale using creative thinking, engineering, and scientific principles, building paper airplanes to test which design flies the farthest, and discussing the science behind it. They may create art projects inspired by science standards, work on group projects to help save bees or salmon, or build tin foil boats to test how much weight they can hold before sinking. Students will also design simple machines for marshmallow launches to see how far their creations can propel a marshmallow. These are just a few examples of the engaging and exciting activities offered to help make science come alive in The Science Studio.
