Challenging Intermediate Iris Folding Art Class
Participants will work on a more challenging project using the intricate paper folding technique from early 20th century Holland called "Iris Folding" to create a small piece of art. Participants will fold paper strips of different colors in half and then one by one place them on the inside of a pattern, following the numbers on the pattern. The piece is complete when the center of the pattern, the “iris”, is reached. Please bring scotch tape and pointy scissors, if you have them. All other materials provided.
This is not a beginner class and a minimum of any prior iris folding class is necessary for this advanced project.
Instructor: Joy Weinstein is a former art teacher for Denver Public Schools, she still teaches locally and participates in art events and festivals.
