Basic Drawing / Learning How to SeeBuild foundational drawing skills through techniques in line, mass, and composition using materials like pencil, charcoal, ink, and more. Learn how to see with a new artistic eye while coordinating perception and technique.Learn to draw using foundational techniques and a variety of drawing tools. Suitable for all experience levels.
Please see the online notes below for a materials list to purchase prior to class (approx. $40). The instructor will provide some materials.
Instructor Sally Elliott was a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Denver in drawing and painting. She has been exhibiting locally and nationally for over 40 years and has earned numerous awards and honors.
Some materials will be provided by the instructor. The materials each participant will need to provide themselves include:One 90lb set of paper, 11X14One set compressed charcoal, pack of three One Sharpie white china marker One Stabillo all-pencil One 4B Drawing pencilMono Pro Pencil 4BOne 4B or 6B graphite stick -1/4"X1/2" One size 10 or 12 round brush for blending - One Kneaded eraserOne small sketch pad One small set of Yarka watercolors Note: Guiry's on Pearl St. is the best place to buy art supplies but you might find some items at McGuckins. Items can also be ordered online from a site such as Amazon.
