10 wks No class on Nov 26 Experience Level: Beginner This beginner-level course will give students a broad foundation of drawing skills, including: shading and volume, negative space, proportion, working from life/reference images, and more. Students will be introduced to a number of classic drawing media, including charcoal, #2 pencil, and dip pen & ink. Additionally, students will focus on observing reality accurately, and will then expand to composing pictures beautifully, compellingly, and through their own unique styles and sensibilities. Experienced artists who want to reconnect with the basics are also welcome! Students interested in advancing their skill level are encouraged to sign up for Drawing II in Winter 2026.
