Utilizing sewing machines, fabrics, tools of the trade, and small mannequins, student will learn what it takes to become a costume designer for the big screen. Drafting and designing a costume on paper, building it on a small scale mannequin, and finally a large scale costume made for kids! Next, participants learn how to create various practical special effects looks: transform into a deep sea creature, an apocalyptic zombie, a Shrek character, and more! The class will culminate in combining the skills learned to create their main character! Projects and looks will be documented each class with a fun short gif, video, or photo. Please note, this program involves the use and application of cosmetic products and make-up.
