DATES: Jun 3, 10, 17, 24 Instructor: Elaine Shen In this class, students will continue expanding their Machine Knitting skills and understanding on their own individual Brother 864 standard gauge knitting machine. This class covers more advance patterning techniques, such as the use of punch cards and tuck stitches, tension swatching, cables, weaving techniques and other hand-manipulated stitches. Students will gain a much deeper understanding of the capabilities of a knitting machine and will leave with a collection of swatches and a small project based on their vision. Pre-requisites: Machine Knitting 101 or equivalent experience -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. 4-week students have access to Open Studio time for free during the month of class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
