Sketchbook Studies is an extensive look at the practice of observational drawing. Students will practice making art directly from observation in their sketchbooks. This will include drawing from nature/plants, still life, landscape, sculpture, and imagination. The goal of the project is to encourage a personal connection in art making beyond an obligatory act and to assert the value of art as it relates to the sciences and critical thinking. Through the sketchbook, students will build a critical eye and mind.
