Participants will combine their love of reading and artistic creativity, with an emphasis on the importance of community and mindfulness. This fall we will be reading and dissecting a New York City based children’s novel — When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. Participants will love following our main character Miranda as she navigates life in the city, changing friendships, and gaining independence. During each session students will add entries to their Book Journals. Their journals are completely customizable; participants are encouraged to use all of our materials to make their journals look exactly as they please. Future Authors is a space for thought provoking, world building conversation through character collages, creative writing challenges, and more.
