The goal of this class is to provide students with a helping hand in creating their portfolios for specialized programs in high schools such as Frank Sinatra, LaGuardia, Art and Design, Edward Murrow, and more. Students will work on honing their artistic abilities by practicing their observational skills, drawing fundamentals, and creative thinking through projects such as still lifes and model drawing. While the class will ensure that all the portfolio requirements for the specialized high schools are met, it will also teach students how to develop their own independent ideas from sketches to fully finished pieces. This class is open to students who not only wish to create a portfolio for high school, but for those who also want to expand on their artistic and creative abilities.
