Explore the diversity of wood and develop a thorough understanding of its properties, uses, and structure. We will spend time learning how variation between species has informed its uses throughout history. Both in lecture and with hands-on macroscopic and microscopic observation, we will learn to observe wood’s structure to identify specimens and understand its qualities and physiology.
