About this event
Description
Thinking about trying to write something publishable, but not sure how to begin? Got an idea for a novel, but not sure where to go with it? Maybe you’ve been writing for a while, but aren’t sure how to proceed. If any of these are true for you, you should take this class!
I will help get you in the habit of writing every day. We’ll talk about what you might write if you’re just beginning to write. We’ll also take a look at what’s selling these days in the world of published/self-published books. We will sample the following genres.
- Romance/Romantasy
- Young Adult Fiction/Children’s Fiction
- Fantasy
- Historical Fiction
- Horror
- LGBTQIA+ fiction
- Thrillers/Mysteries
- Science Fiction
- Non-Fiction/Memoir
We’ll do some writing in each class, and I’ll ask you to write a little on days class does not meet. We will share our writing. We will keep a short weekly journal of what you think about writing, and look at how your thoughts change over the six weeks. During the last session, I’ll ask you to plan your next step as writers.
