About this event
Description
The origin of the spectacular topography of Fox River Bluffs dates to the last Ice Age and to the interaction of the glacier with the much larger river that flowed through the valley. The glacier created the landforms on both sides of the valley, fed the river with massive amounts of meltwater and, at times, blocked the river with an ice dam. Disentangling these various influences will be the goal of our walk, but even more importantly, we’ll ask how this helps us understand the ecosystems we are trying to restore.Once you've signed up, we'll send you a virtual meeting invitation with instructions on how to join the webinar. If you're not able to make it, we'll be recording these webinars so you can view them afterwards on our @DiscoverMCCD YouTube channel under the Tom Talks playlist.
These were developed for our volunteers, but are free and open to anyone.
Please contact Jackie Bero at jbero@mccdistrict.org or (815) 219-1549 if you have any questions or recommendations for future Tom Talks topics.
