Believed to be the largest travertine bridge in the world, Tonto Natural Bridge is nature’s finest architectural work. Nestled in a tiny valley surrounded by pine trees, the bridge stands 183-feet high over a 400-foot tunnel. Spend the morning exploring and hiking to the bottom of the bridge to gain a fuller appreciation of its majesty, before heading into Payson for lunch. Transportation and attraction fees included. Meals at your own expense. Moderate, .5 miles, 260ft elevation gain. Please note that the trail is steep and can be wet- hiking footwear with good tread is REQUIRED, and hiking poles are recommended.Hikers must bring at least 1/2 gallon of water and wear proper hiking footwear. Please note that hike ratings are universal; the rating is NOT adjusted for the anticipated participant age or ability level. Participants must be able to comfortably navigate rocky, steep, sandy, and/or technical terrain. All hike ratings are set by outside organizations. Questions?
