The Rainbow Fish A Non-Musical PLAY Adventure! Open to K–6th Grade Students For the first time in our Adventure series, we’re presenting a play — no singing required! In this creative after-school program, students will gain confidence in acting and movement while working together to bring the beloved, award-winning book The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister to life on stage. In this delightful under-the-sea story, the famous Rainbow Fish is admired by all for their shimmering, beautiful scales — but when they refuse to share, the entire ocean seems to turn against them. With guidance from the wise Octopus, Rainbow Fish learns that kindness and friendship are far more valuable than beauty alone. This large-cast adaptation is full of bubbly, fishy wordplay and offers plenty of fun roles for all experience levels, including ensemble “denizens of the deep” and creative staging elements like multiple actors portraying Rainbow Fish’s sparkling scales and Octopus’s swirling tentacles. It’s a joyful, imaginative way for students to explore character work, teamwork, and storytelling — while delivering a universal message about sharing and kindness.
