Dive into the world of decomposition on our Decomposers in Action hike, part of the Northwest Nature Quest series! On this 2-mile walk, we will search for fungi, isopods, worms, and microorganisms as we explore the vital role decomposers play in the forest ecosystem. We will discuss the decomposition process, composting, and how these tiny creatures contribute to healthy soil.
This is an excellent opportunity to understand how nature recycles and sustains itself. Free program. Registration required. Dress for the weather and 2-mile hike. Insect repellant, sunscreen, water, and comfortable, closed-toed shoes recommended. This program is recommended for mature audiences, but all ages are welcome!
