The annual Memorial Day program will be held at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds to honor military personnel who died in service of their country. This year commemorates the 50th anniversary of the conclusion of the Vietnam War and America's involvement in this conflict. The program will include presentation of wreaths, color guard, a guest speaker, musical performances, military displays, and exhibitors.

Jim Ingle, Chesterfield Board of Supervisors Chair (Bermuda District) will speak, and the ceremony will be a “County Moment of Remembrance” with a focus on the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall during the 50th anniversary of the war’s end.
Those in attendance will hear from Lt. Col. Curt Powell, USMC Retired, the 2024 Veteran of the Year Award Recipient for Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants will take part in the national Moment of Remembrance.
Patriotic music will be played during the ceremony as tribute to those from Chesterfield who have given their lives in service of our country, particularly those who died in Vietnam, culminating with a live rendition of Taps.
