This is the first part of a two-semester class, MA 1 will only be offered in the fall semester. Medical assistants are multi-skilled health professionals who perform a wide range of roles in physician offices, clinics and other health care settings. They are proficient in a multitude of administrative and clinical tasks. Medical assistants are widely employed as vital members of the health care delivery team. This class includes anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical law and ethics, medical insurance and coding, pharmacology and medical office procedures. Note: A criminal background check will be done before attending clinical (fees included). You may be accepted into the class before completion of your background check. If the completed inquiry finds that you are unqualified to attend clinical instruction, you may be dismissed from class.
