Raqs Sharqi—Egyptian Oriental Dance—is the traditional dance form popularly known in the West as “belly dance.” Rooted in Arab cultural heritage and musical traditions, this joyful 8-week series offers absolute beginners a welcoming introduction to foundational movement, posture, arms, and expression.
Each class builds progressively toward a short and simple choreography, helping students embody the technique while experiencing the beauty and musicality of the form.
No prior experience is necessary. All genders and abilities are welcome, with modifications provided to support participation.
