The mission of the Barnes Foundation is to promote the advancement of education and the appreciation of the fine arts and horticulture. The founder, Dr. Albert C. Barnes, believed that art had the power to improve minds and transform lives. It is based on diverse educational programs using his teachings and one-of-a-kind collections. The foundation owns over 4,000 objects, including over 900 paintings, estimated to be worth about $25 billion. The collection includes paintings by leading European, American, and Native American artists; African art; and antiquities from China, Egypt, and Greece. Enjoy a guided tour of the many highlights and fascinating displays. Lunch is onsite and on your own at the delightful Reflections Cafe. Moderate walking.
