About this event

Description

Sharpen your portrait skills in this class. Study the portrait from life and learn helpful tools for achieving a likeness. The first class will include a demonstration from the instructor. Students will work at their own pace and draw or paint in the medium of their choice. This is an intermediate/advanced level class, some drawing experience is recommended.
Bring the supplies of your choice. Some ideas/recommendations:
Studio tools: Small travel mirror or black mirror, bamboo skewer or long thin knitting needle, paper towels
Drawing supplies: drawing board, artist tape, drawing paper. I like Strathmore 400 series Drawing Paper. 11” x 14” and/or 18" x 24", pencils (4B, 2B, HB, 2H), charcoal (vine charcoal and/or General’s Charcoal pencils in a range of soft to hard), kneaded eraser, white clickable eraser, sandpaper or sharpener
Painting supplies of your choice. If using solvents for oil painting, please only use odorless mineral spirits (like Gamsol), in a container with a lid. Solvents with odors are not permitted in the studio.
