Description
Learn basic hand building and wheel throwing techniques and use various tools. Fran Ryan Center currently has 8 wheels so there is no guarantee that everyone will have a wheel, there will be a sign-up sheet available for the wheel each week. Students are asked to bring an apron.
Participants will learn about various types of clay, its working properties, and have the opportunity to try various hand building and pottery wheel techniques. Pieces will be fired and glazed. Participants are encouraged to provide their own apron, and towel for clean up. Participants will purchase their own clay. Glazes are provided.
10 pounds of class is provided in the price of class. Additional clay can be purchased from the FRC front desk. Basic hand tools are provided.
Only clay provided by or sold at the FRC desk is permitted.
The Participant hereby agrees that the use of Recreation & Parks Department facilities and equipment shall be at the exclusive risk of the Participant and his/her guests or agents. The Participant further agrees to indemnify and save harmless the City of Columbus from any and all claims, suits, loss, damage, or injury to persons or property of any kind or nature whatsoever to the Participant and his/her guests or agents as a result of, or activities engaged in the facilities, or use of equipment. The Participant hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Columbus if the Participant violates the rules and regulations or the law.
