Learn basic hand building and wheel throwing techniques and use various tools. Fran Ryan Center currently has 8 wheels so there is no guarantee that everyone will have a wheel, there will be a sign-up sheet available for the wheel each week. Students are asked to bring an apron.

Participants will learn about various types of clay, its working properties, and have the opportunity to try various hand building and pottery wheel techniques. Pieces will be fired and glazed. Participants are encouraged to provide their own apron, and towel for clean up. The class is for students to learn techniques and work on class projects production work is not permitted Clay can be purchased from the FRC front desk on the first day of class. Prices vary based on type of clay. Sold in 12.5 increments only. Basic hand tools are provided.
Only clay provided by or sold at the FRC desk is permitted.

The Participant hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Columbus if the Participant violates the rules and regulations or the law.
