In this 5-part series, Jamie Blair from Fair and Square Quilters will guide students in using charm packs and the disappearing 9 patch quilting technique to design and create their own quilt.
No quilting experience necessary, but basic sewing skills are required. Students must know how to operate a sewing machine (be able to thread, change and wind bobbins, change feet, sew a 1/4" seam).
Students should bring the following materials:- 1 charm square pack (at least 40 5" pre-cut fabric squares)- 1/2 yard of contrasting fabric- 1 yard of coordinating fabric- 3 yards of backing fabric- 24 medium/long safety pins-Types of batting will be discussed, and students should bring in their batting of choice when to finishing stage of creating their quilt
Sewing machines, thread, scissors, rotary cutters, and all tools needed to construct quilt provided.
