Learn to spin yarn in this class suitable for all levels! Spinning can be a mindfulness practice as well as a method to produce yarn for creative fibre projects. Explore how a spinning wheel works and how the features of the wheel can affect your spinning. Learn the importance of fibre choice and preparation, drafting styles and basic techniques for spinning and plying and finishing yarns for various uses. Students are encouraged to progress at their own pace. Supplies included. Spinning wheels are available for at-home practice; equipment loans require a deposit. Bring your own wheel if you have one. Registered students can sign-up for studio time to access spinning wheels.
