In this hands-on class, explore the world of upcycling, transforming old or unwanted clothing into fresh, fashionable pieces. Emphasizing sustainable fashion practices, learn creative techniques to give new life to garments, reducing waste and promoting eco-conscious style. Learn basic sewing machine skills, embroidery, hand sewing, embellishing, fabric painting and more. You will be supported to achieve your individual sustainable fashion designs. There will be a selection of second-hand clothing available, and students are encouraged to bring in a few items of pre-loved clothing to upcycle. If you have a sewing machine and would like to learn to use it more proficiently, this is a great class to do so. There are 2 machines and 1 serger available for use during class time.
