Meet us at Cedar Mountain Battlefield in Culpeper for a family-friendly early evening hike. We invite all ages and abilities to join us for the first in a series of hiking and walking adventures, focused on including all, around Culpeper.
Program is FREE, but all participants must pre-register. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
The battlefield features a self-guided trail that is perfect for families. It is a moderate 1.5-mile loop that takes you through the battlefield, offering both historical markers and views of the surrounding landscape. The terrain is relatively easy, making it accessible for families with children or those who prefer a gentler hike.
Cedar Mountain Battlefield history:
This Civil War site of the Battle of Cedar Mountain, fought on August 9, 1862, during the Second Manassas Campaign.
With registration, water and snacks will be provided!
Leashed pets welcome, please be considerate of others and clean up any pet waste in the battlefield. Leash must be 6' or shorter, no extendable / flexi leashes.
This program will take place outdoors. Please bring appropriate clothing and any needed sunscreen and/or bug spray.
