Description
This group is for individuals experiencing mild cognitive impairment or age-related memory issues and will be a safe fun space to socialize with others in similar situations. Social time is incredibly important as we age, as it is for anyone at any stage of their lives as it promotes better mental and physical health and can improve quality of life. The group sessions will consist of a variety of engaging activities including music, art, nature, crafts, cooking/tasting, movement/exercise, brain games, friendly chats, and good old-fashioned fun. Maybe even a therapy dog visit! Designed and led by two local business owners/occupational therapists with extensive experience working with older adults and individuals living with cognitive changes and other age-related conditions.
This would also be a wonderful opportunity for caregivers to have some respite and time to pursue their own interests.
**This group is not intended to be a substitute for medical, nutrition, rehabilitation, or home care services. Please consult your treating medical providers for specific advice on how you should manage your conditions. Participants must have independent mobility (with or without a device) and self-care for the duration of the group time.
