10 New Bikes from Interbike 2017

From the latest e-bikes to special-edition retro rides, there were some pretty cool wheels on display at Interbike 2017.

These 10 new models stood out at this year’s event.
Cervelo S3 Disc

Cervelo's revamped 2018 lineup sports more than new colorways and disc brakes. This S3 model is even faster and more aerodynamic than its predecessor, with a nine percent increase in frame stiffness and a 400-gram deduction in weight. Cervelo also claims that its redesigned tube shapes improved both handling and balance.

Yamaha YDX-TORC

Since this new e-bike from Yamaha won't be released until 2018, pricing and a few technical specs aren't available yet. What we do know: The motor is a favorite among early testers for its smooth transition and power, winning the 2017 Interbike Innovation of the Year award. In addition to this hardtail mountain bike, a hybrid and recreation-utility e-bike will also be released next year for the first time in the U.S.

Bianchi Specialissima Pantani Edition

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Italian pro cycling legend Marco Pantani's Giro and Tour de France double, this new bike from Bianchi is a rare beauty. Word is only a small number of these bikes will be available to the public, and if you're hoping to get your hands on one of these frames (along with the Bora Ultra 35 wheels and Campagnolo Super Record groupset), you'll have to pay a pretty penny—and be a bit lucky to boot.

Wilier Cento 10 Disc

Slipping into the super bike category, the Wilier Cento 10 Disc is as fast a bike as you'll find anywhere. What we like most about this model though is the fully-integrated Novel bar-stem combo and how the geometry and build keeps comfort in mind. DT Swiss 35 Carbon and Shimano Dura Ace Di2 round out the specs.

Trivel Azteca Fat Trike

Somewhere in between a recumbent and a more traditional bike, this three-wheeled trike from Trivel is a little bit different from the rest. What stood out to us is the ultra-stable design that doesn't comprise steering, as well as the inclusion of fat tires on a trike—which we guess you could say is sort of outside the box.

While the company claims its original lineup was created with disabled individuals in mind, we'd bet just about anyone could have some fun on this thing.

Colnago Concept Art Decor

A stock Colnago Concept frame will cost you $4,500, so you can bet this special edition gold art décor will up the bill quite a bit. The bike is modeled with a gold Alto wheelset, which comes in at a slightly more reasonable $2,000 and makes for a pretty smashing dance partner. Though we didn't get to test ride it, from the appearance of the display, we'd say the bike likely climbs well, too.

Focus Mares

While the 2018 isn't available just yet, if the Mares is better than previous models, it's going to be worth the wait. The new color scheme in Focus' lineup caught our eye in a good way, and we think the funky yellow was a good choice for a cyclocross rig. The full-carbon Mares is known for its race-worthy performance and excellent overall value. SRAM Force 1 and Mavic Ksyrium tubeless wheels complete the package.

Cipollini RB1K

A bike with sprinting legend Mario Cippollini's name on the downtube must be two things: flashy and fast. The 2018 RB1K is promising to be both, though we can only confirm the flashy part. Even in white, the bike screams speed, and to back up the looks, the company claims this version is 20 percent stiffer and 120 grams lighter than last year's model. As pictured, the RB1K will likely cost you close to $10,000 once it's made available.

Tern Verge P10

The downside of foldable bikes is that most models just don't look all that cool. The Verge P10 from Tern changes that with BMX-inspired looks, Kinetix Pro 451 wheels and a silver and black color scheme that's sporty and fun. As for function, the Shimano Deore 1x drivetrain, 11-40T cassette and hydraulic disc brakes are ideal for getting around the city. Total weight comes in at 25.8 pounds.

Haibike Xduro Downhill 10.5

If there was one consistent theme at this year's show, it's that e-bikes are taking over—and they're no longer just for commuters. One of the more interesting models we saw was this downhill mountain bike from Haibike. While you wouldn't want to test this baby out unless you've got plenty of downhill experience, we'd sure like to see it in action. The Xduro is powered by a Bosch Performance CX 350W drive unit and Shimano Saint componentry.
