The class will cover the geological history of Earth, how plate tectonics work, the formation of Maine, our local rocks and glacial impact on our local surface area. There are three classroom sessions, plus one field trip to explore the geology of the Pemaquid Region. The field trip is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th. It is recommended that you purchase the book – Geology of the Pemaquid Region Mid-Coast Maine; Author David M Pope; 2015 prior to attending class.
