This class is restricted to campers who have previously taken Athenian Summer Program’s Innovation Workshop, or who have some “maker space” experience. If you'd like to register your camper for this class, please add it to your cart, and complete the application questions during check out. There will be not cost associated with the application. We will admit and notify families on a rolling basis as applications come in. Get creative! Get building! This class will learn about how to think creatively and bring what’s in your head to the physical world. In this course campers will learn how some of our shop tools in the Carter Innovation Studio: laser cutters, 3d printers, servos, and a host of others to bring their creations to life. Beginning with just cardboard scraps, hot glue, and some string, campers will first learn how to use the most common materials to bring their imagination to life before expanding that knowledge to more intricate tools and more difficult mechanisms. Students will be making passion projects, bringing their imagination to life, with the intention of presenting their favorite 1-2 projects they have created. Instructor Ben Landrum is an Athenian Alumni and former member of the Athenian Acropolis Robotics Team.
