Non Standard Shooting Positions was designed to test and improve the skills of the modern semi-automatic rifle/carbine user, this course focuses on range exercises to develop rifle handling, manipulation, and marksmanship. Learn how to efficiently shoot from non-standard positions under the guidance of an experienced coach. Students will shoot through different size ports and off of awkward angled structures, all at bearing heights and distances. As with all my classes, students can dress low vis, full kit, or anywhere in between. This is an opportunity for you to not only test your skills and your rifle, but your ancillary equipment as well. This is an intermediate level course as soon as you have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of shooting their carving as well as other skills, loading and malfunction clearance techniques. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: - Refine and apply fundamentals of marksmanship to a variety of shooting positions at varying distances. - Enhance shooting skills through performance-based training. - Identify deficiencies and apply newly practiced skills to enhance accuracy and speed. EQUIPMENT LIST - Reliable, mechanically sound semi-automatic rifle or carbine with sling - 5 magazines - Magazine pouches - Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning. - Clothing suitable for training in any weather - Hydration system - Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses - Earmuffs and/or earplugs AMMO - Estimated round count: 250 rounds rifle - Lead core ammunition to be used on steel only. - No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or surrogate rounds allowed in this class as we are primarily shooting steel targets. - Ammunition is available for purchase from me at cost with at least 5 days notice.
